Gynaecology Services
Our Gynaecology Services
Understanding the female anatomy and reproductive cycle is the foundation of our gynaecology practice and is central to the issues our patients may face at different times in their lives. Our specialists at Gynae North offer a full range of services with up to date knowledge and experience in surgical skills including advanced minimally invasive surgery.
Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis is a gynaecological disease, thought to be related to endometriosis. It occurs when endometrial tissue (the tissue that lines the uterine cavity) grows in the uterine myometrium (the muscular layer of the uterus).
Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a common disease affecting the female reproductive system, in which endometrial tissue grows in areas of the body outside the uterus.
PCOS
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex hormonal condition, often associated with irregular periods, skin and hair changes and cysts on the ovaries, that affects around 1 in 5 women of reproductive age.
Cervical Screening & Management
Cervical Screening Tests replaced traditional Pap Smears in 2017 and are an invaluable tool in the prevention and detection of cervical cancer.
Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery
The medical team at Gynae North are qualified to perform even the most complicated of laparoscopic procedures, also known as keyhole surgery. Less invasive, less pain, less scarring and faster recovery.
Uterine Prolapse
Uterine Prolapse describes the situation where the position of the uterus has shifted towards the vaginal opening. Left untreated the uterus eventually leaves the body entirely, and hangs within an inverted vagina.
Fibroids
Fibroids are benign growths in the smooth muscle wall of the uterus that can cause bleeding, pain, low iron levels and infertility.
Menopause
Menopause describes the end of a woman’s natural reproductive life and can be associated with a number of different symptoms, the severity of which varies from one person to the next.
Contraception
With so many different forms of contraception, working out what's best for you can be overwhelming! Our Specialist Gynaecologists are experts in conception and contraception, and will work with you to determine the method that best suits your lifestyle, medical history and needs.
