Infertility Treatment Services
Fertility North is proud to offer a comprehensive range of fertility treatment from simple, low intervention to cutting-edge, using the latest technology.
You will find detailed information on our routine fertility treatment services below, while details of our advanced technologies can be found here.
Ovulation Induction
Low-dose hormonal stimulation to stimulate ovulation combined with blood tests and ultrasound, with the aim to increase the likelihood of natural conception.
Artificial Insemination
Artificial insemination (AI) or intrauterine insemination (IUI) sees the introduction of a washed sample of sperm from a partner or donor into the uterus at the time of ovulation.
IVF
Perhaps the most well-known of all fertility treatments. IVF is the process by which eggs are taken from the body, fertilised with sperm in a petri dish and after a few days of incubation, replaced back into the uterus.
ICSI
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is an extension on traditional IVF which involves injecting a single sperm into each egg, rather than relying on the efforts of the sperm to penetrate the egg alone.
Mini IVF
All the benefits of traditional IVF but with lower cost and lower intervention, meaning fewer blood tests and ultrasounds, no hospital admission and a quicker recovery.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need fertility treatment?
If you have regular periods and are aged under 35, you should seek assistance after 12 months of trying naturally to get pregnant. If you are aged 35 years or over, this reduces to 6 months.
If you have irregular periods or you are known to have a condition that impacts your fertility, it is reasonable to seek assistance sooner.
Do you treat single women or same-sex couples?
Absolutely! We know only too well that some people wish to achieve pregnancy on their own. For others, the right person is yet to come along and for others, the right person is the same sex! We have one of Perth’s best and safest, fully accredited Donor Program backed by a dedicated team to support you on your journey. Our staff have also undertaken Opening Closets training to familiarise us with the unique challenges the LGBTQI community face. For people who have no immediate plans to have children, Fertility Preservation allows them to keep their options open.
How many cycles will it take me to get pregnant?
This is a tricky question to answer as it depends on your age, general health, underlying medical issues, lifestyle factors…the list goes on.
Some people are lucky enough to conceive as early as during their fertility tests and investigations, others may conceive on their first treatment cycle and for others, it may take much longer.
But you will not journey alone. Our team will educate and support you during each stage of your fertility journey and will give you honest and up-front advice as to your chance of success.
